About this program

The B.A. in Digital Communications prepares students to communicate effectively across digital platforms. Students also learn to use data to tell meaningful stories and develop ethical marketing and communications plans using current tools and approaches.

The program includes a liberal arts core curriculum and major requirements. Major courses cover communications fundamentals, corporate and digital marketing strategy, writing for the digital space, digital storytelling, strategic communications, and social media marketing. Students also complete a team-based implementation of a strategic communications plan for a local entity and report on successes and opportunities observed.

Entry requirements

  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
  • Deadlines for enrollment: August 1 (Fall Enrollment); December 1 (Spring Enrollment); April 15 (Summer Enrollment). Rolling admission after deadlines as space permits.
  • Academic transcripts: Official high school transcript with degree conferral date or official GED; Official college transcript(s) from all previously attended colleges or universities. If conferred an associate's degree, applicants may submit an Attestation Form in lieu of an official high school transcript.
  • Essay: Submit one essay uploaded to the online application form. The essay should respond to one of the listed topics and be limited to 500 – 750 words. The essay is essential to the Admissions Committee.
  • Recommendations: Two letters of recommendation are required, sent directly by the recommender through the online application.
