About this program

The Front-End Design Development BA at Whitworth College combines art and computer science. It trains you to work with user interface, analyze users and their behaviors, and develop software. The program prepares you for careers in user experience (UX) and supports applying those skills to areas involving user interaction, including graphic design, quality assurance, program management, and data analytics.

Coursework includes creating and editing software. You also complete an internship to gain experience outside the classroom. The program uses the Lied Center for the Visual Arts, which includes six studios, two gallery spaces, and a computer lab. Studios are available from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m., and the program also includes off-campus study options led by faculty during Jan Term and full semesters.
