Holocaust Education Graduate Certificate

The Holocaust Education Graduate Certificate is education about the Holocaust as both an historical event and its ongoing ramifications for contemporary society. The program provides knowledge and tools to teach and understand the importance of the Holocaust to modern society, including its history and current relevance. It prepares students to teach and discuss the Holocaust with peers, teachers, community organizers, colleagues, and professionals across different levels and settings.

This 13-credit graduate certificate program includes courses that integrate classical and contemporary Jewish studies with Holocaust pedagogies and teaching methodologies. All courses are selected in consultation with the program director. The program is designed for working professionals and can be earned as a stand-alone certificate if a student does not wish to pursue a master's degree. Students affiliate with the Baltimore Hebrew Institute in Towson’s College of Liberal Arts.
