The Instructional Design Undergraduate Certificate at the University of West Florida prepares students to address instructional needs and performance gaps across various fields. The program focuses on learning and performance solutions aligned with an organization’s strategic goals, including instructional design and development, theory, instructional models, media development, and performance improvement concepts. It also emphasizes analyzing instructional and performance issues to select design approaches.
Students complete the certificate fully online. It is offered as a nine-credit program with a course length of 12-16 weeks and an estimated program length of 6-12 months. Required courses cover introduction to instructional and performance technology, foundations of instructional design, and development of instructional materials. The program can be completed in as little as two semesters, and credits may be applied toward the BS in Instructional Design and Technology in accordance with university policy.
