The IT Management - IT Technician Diploma at Southeastern Community College builds a base of IT management skills for an entry-level IT technician role. Students learn to install, configure, and maintain server and network infrastructure and to manage and troubleshoot hardware devices such as routers, switches, workstations, and laptops.
Coursework includes topics like access controls and authentication mechanisms, user accounts and permissions, system configurations, disaster recovery, identifying and mitigating security threats, and conducting penetration testing to identify vulnerabilities and perform risk assessments. Students complete the program in two semesters, and the diploma is awarded after successful completion of the second semester.
