Kinesiology BA

Kinesiology, B.A. at Whitworth University studies the movement of the body. Students learn through theoretical study and practical experience on how to use movement to promote human health and wellness. The major includes mentorship from professors and learning in areas such as Exercise Physiology and Personal Health & Nutrition.

Learning includes hands-on experience in the human performance lab and in the anatomy and physiology lab, which provides learning opportunities with human cadavers. Students prepare for careers through internships. The major also offers two tracks: a teaching track that prepares students to teach or coach in public or private schools, and a non-teaching track for health, fitness, and physical education-related career opportunities, with an internship required.

Graduates pursue health-related professions such as physical education teachers, coaches, healthcare professionals, and human movement practitioners. Recent job placements include roles such as firefighter/paramedic, health/fitness teacher and coach, performance director, assistant professor, licensed massage therapist, and student physical therapist, among others.
