The Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology at St. Mary’s University is designed to help students build competence in Industrial/Organizational Psychology using the scientist-practitioner model. Students study topics such as Advanced Statistics, Group/Team Dynamics, Human Factors, Motivation and Incentive, Organizational Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Professional Consulting, Professional Development, and Surveying and Psychometrics.
The program is delivered in-person. Coursework includes applied projects and a 225-hour practicum at a placement site, with placements arranged in collaboration with the Graduate Program Director. Students also complete a thesis or non-thesis option, and first-year students are paired with an alumni mentor. International students qualify for three years of Optional Practical Training upon graduation.
