The Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis at Louisiana State University Shreveport is designed to develop professional behavior analysts. The program develops conceptual foundations and applied skills to practice as a behavior analyst and includes academic requirements to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in Louisiana. It is also described as a foundation for doctoral degree programs in behavior analysis, psychology, and rehabilitation.
Students complete core courses in applied behavior analysis reviewed and approved by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board and designated as a Pathway 2 Program. Training includes hands-on clinic experience in the on-campus Community Counseling and Psychology Clinic and placement with local community partners. The program includes practicum, internship, and a thesis or research project, plus faculty research labs with close supervision from faculty.
Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited university. Applicants must complete the online LSUS Application for Graduate Admission and submit official transcripts from institutions where courses have been attempted to the Office of Admissions and Records. Applicants must also submit to [email protected]: (1) two Letters of Reference; (2) a completed Program Application form; (3) Letter of Intent expressing the reasons for wanting to become a behavior analyst and indicating plans after the degree; and (4) a current Resumé/CV. All material must be received prior to the program application deadline, which will be March 30th for the Fall Semester. An application is complete only when all required materials have been received. Once all admissions paperwork is complete, a formal interview is required with the program faculty.
