Master of Science in Applied Science and Technology in Homeland Security Management

The Master of Science in Applied Science and Technology in Homeland Security Management at Alcorn State University prepares students to solve security issues and address threats as professionals for the local, state, and federal government, and the public sector. Students engage in research, development, and analysis of security strategies, including critical agency infrastructures and their inter-relationships, along with team leadership and cooperative planning.

The curriculum includes 36 credit hours of coursework plus a thesis or a non-thesis project. Students complete required core courses in research methods, mathematics for AS&T, computation in AS&T, and project management, then choose either a thesis track or a non-thesis track. An oral defense is required for progression to degree completion, and there is a research-focused thesis or a three-chapter non-thesis proposal project.
