Master of Science in Applied Science and Technology in Radiological Health Science

The Master of Science in Applied Science and Technology with the concentration in Radiological Health Science prepares students to address applied health-physics problems in an industry, hospital, academia, research, or other settings where radiation is used for beneficial purposes. Students build technical knowledge and professional judgment in radiation-related issues, and learn how to work independently in professional jobs.

The curriculum includes 36 credit hours of coursework, plus a thesis or non-thesis project for degree completion. Students complete 12 hours of required core credits, 6 hours of research course credits, and 18 hours of restricted electives. Degree completion includes an oral defense of the thesis or non-thesis, and the thesis track uses a five-chapter manuscript while the non-thesis track uses a three-chapter proposal.

Students applying for entrance to the Master of Science in Applied Science and Technology are required to submit an application for admission. Two letters of recommendation. Resume. Career Goal Statement. Official transcript from an accredited school (if a student has attended more than one school, transcripts must be submitted from all schools attended). At least one transcript must document that the student has a bachelor’s degree. Some departments have additional requirements students must meet for admission. Immunization Record. Official transcripts from the sending school, and Credential Evaluations (International students) from an approved Credential Evaluation Service.
