Master Pharmaceutical Sciences

Western University of Health Sciences offers the Master of Science in Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSBPS) for students who want thesis-based, research-focused study in pharmaceutical science. The faculty expertise includes pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, drug delivery, neuropharmacology, cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology, pharmacogenomics, computational biology, microbiology, virology, and molecular immunology.

Students complete a series of courses and conduct research throughout the program. They write a thesis based on their research, then present and defend it in the presence of a thesis committee. Most students also present findings at scientific conferences and publish their research in journals. Graduates transition to careers in biotechnology and pharmaceutical roles and may also move into further graduate training such as a PhD or a professional program.
