Master Plan Referendum at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is a referendum that students vote on to support implementation of the university master plan through a self-assessed student fee. If the measure is approved, each student contributes $7.50 per credit hour for up to 15 credit hours, with a maximum total of $112.50 per semester and session.
The plan is based on a comprehensive 10-year campus development effort created by an alumnus, Steve Oubre of Architects Southwest, with input from students, faculty, staff, and community members. It includes transportation needs such as wider sidewalks and a 24-hour study facility, and also addresses transportation, parking, housing, and overall land use.
