Master Program Evaluation

The Master of Science in Program Evaluation at St. Mary’s University is designed for students who want to provide evaluation, assessment, statistical and grant writing services to nonprofit organizations, various levels of government, and colleges and universities. The program builds advanced knowledge in applied statistics, instrument development and measurement, qualitative methods and grant writing, with an emphasis on culturally responsive evaluation.

Students learn through Community-Based Research and by using R statistical software. The degree includes advanced course work such as Advanced Program Evaluation, Advanced Statistics, Applied Program Evaluation, Grant Writing, Introduction to Programming, Multivariate Statistics, Qualitative Methods, Race, Class and Gender in Community-Based Research, and Tests and Measurement. The program is capped with an applied project, a thesis and additional electives.

Admission Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Satisfactory completion of an undergraduate statistics course
• A combined GRE score of 294 on the verbal and quantitative sections (minimum of 146 on the verbal section and 140 on the quantitative section)
• A minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 for the last 60 undergraduate hours
