The Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership prepares educators who want to become school, district, or diocesan leaders. The curriculum is based on the Florida Educational Leadership Standards (FELS) and the National Educational Leadership Preparation Standards (NELP). Coursework emphasizes three core areas of study: instructional leadership, school operations, and school leadership.
The program is fully online and includes weekly, voluntary Zoom sessions with instructors and classmates. You complete fieldwork experiences at your school or work site through administrative-team partnerships. The state approved and multistate versions use the same courses with alternative assignments for different organizational needs, and you can take one class every 8 weeks or double up to finish faster.
To gain eligibility for degree conferral in the Florida State approved program, candidates must pass the required Florida educational leadership certification examination. Students in the multistate program take the Florida Educational Leadership Exam or the Praxis School Leadership Licensure Assessment in their respective state after degree conferral. The program includes over 120 hours of leadership opportunities for those in the state approved program.
