The Master of Science in Cyber Security is a 36-credit graduate program made up of 12 courses. The curriculum is 100 percent focused on cyber security, and no foundational computer science concepts are taught. It is positioned as a technical program that is not an MBA or a master of computer science program with electives to create a cyber security specialization.
The program combines highly technical coursework with managerial training. Students learn how to take a managerial as well as a highly technical approach to cyber crime prevention and defense, so they can lead a team of IT professionals and perform technical functions. Practical, hands-on training is provided through a cyber security lab that runs simulations using secure, remote access for on-ground and online students.
Prospective students must already have a computer science, engineering, or related degree or be a current cyber security or IT professional. No foundational computer science concepts are taught in the 36-credit program of 12 courses.
