Masters Degree Psychology

The Master’s Degree in Psychology at Saint Leo University is a fully online, asynchronous program that provides advanced knowledge and skills in psychological science. Students study general psychology and also develop practical skills in data analysis, research, and teaching. The curriculum focuses on psychological theories and practice, with a global understanding of human behavior and ethical decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Students complete 30 credit hours through a flexible cohort model and student-centered learning with student-led discussions. Terms are 8 weeks each. Students typically take one course per term, and excellent students may take 2 courses at a time. In the final Master’s Thesis/Capstone Project, students choose an area of interest for either research design and analysis or an extensive literature review, with an empirical thesis or a capstone option that fits the specialization.

The degree includes four specialization options: General Psychology, Industrial/Organizational, Health Psychology, and a track that supports the Master’s Thesis/Capstone Project option. This degree is described as suitable for employment requiring knowledge and application of human behavior and analysis, advanced data analysis and research skills, advanced training related to psychology, preparation for Ph.D. psychology programs, job promotion, and educational fields such as teaching at the college level.
