The Saint Leo University Master of Science in Instructional Design teaches students how to use instructional design processes, models, and theories to design effective training and learning to improve performance. The curriculum covers technology, learning theories, and instructional methods, then moves into design frameworks, learning and performance, and mapping instructional processes from concept to a full model.
The degree is delivered entirely online. It is an asynchronous program, supported by live weekly sessions delivered through videoconferencing tools that are recorded for offline access. The program uses an experiential learning focus, with projects built around real-life instructional design problems from the start through the end, and includes opportunities for both individual and collaborative work.
Students come from multiple professional backgrounds, including corporate and military trainers, higher education educators and faculty, and information technology professionals and content developers. The program prepares graduates for careers as instructional designers and in learning design across education and training settings.
