Masters Mentor Dr Hung Chu Lin

The master’s in psychology program includes work connected to developmental research. Dr. Hung-Chu Lin, SLEMCO/LEQSF Regents Professor in Liberal Arts, focuses her research on the development of emotions, parenting, attachment relationships, and developmental disabilities. She runs the Developmental Science Laboratory (DSL), which uses an interdisciplinary approach to examine adjusted and maladjusted developmental processes.

Students receive mentoring that supports research development and progress through degree requirements. Dr. Lin encourages master’s students to apply for grants and awards and to present research at conferences. She works with students to set clear goals related to their research interests, efficiently complete degree requirements, and prepare them to conduct research independently. Mentoring includes flexibility to adjust goals based on progress and attention to bias-free guidance.
