The Thomas College Masters Program in Educational Policy and Reform is designed for people interested in education but not interested in being a classroom teacher. It blends policy, reform, and advocacy for educational stakeholders, with work that uses research to build policy-analysis skills.
Students examine political, social, bureaucratic, and economic impacts on schools and educational systems. The program links policy to the practice of schooling in the PK-12 and higher education system and includes advocacy skills to promote educational equity.
Courses use both asynchronous and synchronous formats and include project-based practicums that are customized to student interests. The culminating practicum is fully customizable and is set up as an apprenticeship to support real-world application of skills developed during the program.
