Masters Speech Language Pathology Graduate Narges Firouzshahi

The communicative disorders master’s program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette prepares students to translate theory and research into effective clinical practice in speech-language pathology. The program includes a capstone project focused on home programs for teenage fluency (stuttering) clients, with study areas that connect to compensatory strategies for language and literacy clients.

During the course, students can work in clinic, hospital, and school settings with speech, language, hearing, and cognitive-linguistic impaired clients and patients. Students may also pursue research and publication while studying, including contributing to peer-reviewed work and engaging with proposals and presentations for the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association Convention.
