The World Languages Transfer, Modern Languages BA - Associate in Arts (URI) at Community College of Rhode Island is a JAA transfer program that builds a foundation in language and cultural studies at the associate degree level. It develops language proficiency and cross-cultural competency, and prepares students for advanced study at the bachelor’s degree level. Students complete Communication Fundamentals, Composition, multiple World Languages electives across Elementary I, Elementary II, Intermediate I, and Intermediate II levels, and additional general education electives.
The program can be completed at any campus or fully online. It totals 61 credit hours and includes general education requirements (including electives in history, lab science, literature, mathematics, and social science) plus major requirements that include World Languages ElectiveIntermediate II and several free electives. Students who complete a JAA plan receive an Associate’s degree and enter the receiving institution with 60 credits and Junior status.
