The Music BA - Associate in Arts (RIC) is a Performing Arts Transfer pathway that prepares students to transfer to Rhode Island College (RIC) for a bachelors degree in Music. Coursework includes music theory, ear training, music history, applied study, ensemble participation through chorus, and general education courses such as Communication Fundamentals, Composition I, Survey of Western Civilization I and II, and electives.
Students complete the program at the Knight (Warwick) Campus. The structure includes work-based learning courses in communication and chorus, lab science electives, and a major sequence built around voice class, piano class, music theory I through IV, and sight singing and ear training I through IV. Applied lessons are listed as three separate blocks within the major requirements.
Course requirements must be completed as given. Students must be eligible for the Joint Admissions Agreement (JAA) program and meet the eligibility condition of earning less than 30 college credits at the time of joining and not having attended any other college or university.
