Office Assistant Diploma

The Office Assistant Diploma at Southeastern Community College is a one-year diploma designed to build entry-level business and technology skills. Students study office technology and office procedures, introduction to computers, business English, and business math. They also complete workplace accounting, keyboarding and document production, remote office management, records and database management, and leadership development studies.

The curriculum follows a Fall Semester I and Spring Semester I course sequence. Some courses include both lecture and lab, and CSC-110 requires lab time outside of class to complete projects. The program includes CTE Job Shadowing (SDV-133) with a credit range of 1-2, and learning includes practical assignments that simulate real-world business scenarios.

After completing the diploma, graduates can step into entry-level office positions or continue into the Business Office Management or Legal Office Management degree programs. Career options listed include data entry, receptionist, front desk clerk, and other entry-level office roles.
