Peace Studies BA

The Peace Studies BA at Whitworth University focuses on developing an understanding of peace and conflict by integrating insights from several academic disciplines. Students take courses in political science and choose additional courses from sociology, theology, economics, and history. The major also integrates faith and learning throughout the curriculum.

The program includes a required internship and service-learning opportunities. Students use these experiences to apply classroom learning to peacemaking efforts, including work in the local community and interaction with people involved in peacemaking. Students may also conduct research under a professor’s supervision and present it at the Spokane Intercollegiate Research Conference.
