Bedford E. F. Palmer II teaches courses for master’s level clinicians-in-training in professional ethics, intercultural communication, human sexuality, psychological perspectives of gender, and advanced clinical practice. His teaching and clinical interests include professional ethics, supervision, conceptualization and treatment planning, community mental health, and multicultural competence development.

He is a licensed psychologist and an associate professor who chairs the counseling department at Saint Mary’s College of California. He founded the Akoben Research Lab, working with a team of graduate and undergraduate students on topics such as social privilege attitudes, cultural factors, social and racial justice, ally identity development, multicultural competence education, clinical training, and psychology in social media.
