Political Science BA

In the Political Science B.A. at Whitworth College, you study American politics, law, comparative politics, international relations, and methods. You analyze how power is exercised from the local and state levels to the national and international levels, and how these processes affect individual lives.

The major is shaped by commitments to justice and reconciliation, reflected in the department motto “Do Justice; Love Mercy.” Learning includes classroom study, internships, off-campus opportunities, and research projects. You complete a required internship and have options such as a semester-long internship in Washington, D.C., or an internship in Olympia with the Washington State Legislature, plus faculty-supervised research and conference presentation.
