Psychology BA

The Psychology BA at Whitworth University prepares students for scientific study in psychology. Students work on critical thinking and data analysis through activities that include research projects and practicum placements. The program also includes courses such as Helping Skills and a senior thesis research project.

Learning includes experiential opportunities. Students gain experience as a research assistant working one-on-one with professors and develop supportive counseling skills through Helping Skills. Teaching assistantships support preparation for graduate school and careers in education.

Students also connect psychology to their interests across topics such as art, marketing, biology, communication, and faith or worldview issues like spiritual approaches to therapy and the nature of evil. Practicum includes placement in a community agency in Spokane.
