Small Business Startup Certificate

The Small Business Startup Certificate at Southeastern Community College helps students learn basic skills and strategies to launch a small business. Key skills include marketing, online business operations, social media management, and small business start-up methods. The curriculum includes Small Business Start-up, Principles of Marketing, E-Commerce, and Social Media Engagement.

Instruction is delivered through lecture-based courses, with Social Media Engagement including both lecture and lab components. The certificate is awarded after completing BUS-141, MKT-110, BUS-150, and SMM-108, for a total of 12 credits. There is no limit on how many times a certificate can be attempted stated; however, the certificate can be earned one time.

Graduates can work toward roles such as Small Business Owner and Store Manager.
