Theatre Directing BFA Uri

This Theatre Directing BFA transfer program is a Joint Admissions Agreement pathway at Community College of Rhode Island. It is designed to prepare students for a four-year bachelor’s degree by developing directing skills for stage productions, with emphasis on the director’s role and collaboration with designers, stage managers, and actors.

Students complete general education coursework plus major requirements that include stagecraft, costuming, play analysis for production, and acting through THEA 1140 Acting I and THEA 2140 Acting II. The plan includes work-based learning courses in COMM 1010 Communication Fundamentals and THEA 1120 Stagecraft, and it totals 61 credit hours.

Students must meet eligibility for the JAA program. JAA helps students transfer seamlessly to Rhode Island College (RIC) or the University of Rhode Island (URI). Students who are eligible for the JAA program have earned less than 30 college credits at the time of joining and have not attended any other college or university. Students must complete all requirements as given.
