Financial aid is available to all eligible students, regardless of sex, race, color, national origin, or disability.To maintain eligibility for financial aid at Central Carolina Technical College, students must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements, including a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher.If GPA falls below 2.00, the student is placed on “Warning.” A meeting with an advisor and a Student Progress Plan are required. If GPA remains below 2.00 after the warning period, the student will face financial aid suspension.Students must pass at least 67% of attempted credit hours (including DVS and transfer hours). If this requirement is not met, the student is placed on “Warning.” A meeting with an advisor and a Student Progress Plan are required. Repeated failure may lead to financial aid suspension. Grades of W, I, WF, or F count as unsuccessful attempts.Students are limited to financial aid for 150% of the required program credit hours, including all coursework at CCTC (including DVS) and accepted transfer credits. The limit is specific to each program.Students within 15 credit hours of the maximum will be placed on “Danger” status and should contact the aid office if additional hours are needed.Students on “Danger” must meet with an advisor and create a Student Progress Plan for at least 3 semesters. Failure to do so may affect eligibility for appeals.First-time financial aid applicants may be ineligible for aid based on academic progress, based on a review of the complete enrollment history.Students may appeal financial aid suspension on a case-by-case basis with documented reasons such as illness, family issues, or unforeseen circumstances; students must submit a written appeal with appropriate documentation, including a Student Progress Plan (SPP), and submit by the posted deadline. Students are allowed up to two appeals.To qualify for in-state tuition, students must fill out a residency declaration form and provide the required documents; additional proof may be requested.Active-duty military members and their dependents must also complete the residency declaration form and a military verification form, which admissions counselors review to confirm residency status.Transfer students must have their FAFSA information sent to Central Carolina Technical College by adding the School Code (003995) at studentaid.gov.Students cannot receive federal aid at two colleges in the same semester.
