The George R. Johnson Entrepreneurship Scholarship

The George R. Johnson Entrepreneurship Scholarship is available to incoming and current Entrepreneurship students at Cleveland State Community College. The scholarship requires completion of the aid year General Scholarship Application. Scholarship funds can be used to assist with the cost of books and other educational expenses, such as non-mandatory fees. Funds are posted to the student’s account.

Eligibility is limited to students who major in Entrepreneurship and join and actively participate in the Cleveland State Student Entrepreneurship Club. Students must also maintain full time enrollment status (12 credit hours or more). Incoming freshmen must have a minimum high school GPA of 2.50 and, if dual credits were received at CSCC, a minimum college GPA of 2.50. Current college students must have a minimum GPA of 2.50.

Selection is handled through the online scholarship application process. Students complete the general scholarship application; students are matched to scholarships based on answers provided in the application and data pulled from student records (including GPA, hours enrolled, county of residence, and other data). Students must be accepted to Cleveland State and have access to CougarNet to apply.

The award amount is $500 per semester for up to four sequential semesters, for a total scholarship award of $2,000 over two years. To maintain eligibility, students must take a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester and maintain a 2.50 GPA, and membership and active participation in the Entrepreneurship Club each semester are required. If requirements are not met, students can write to the Entrepreneurship committee to request a semester to re-establish the minimum requirements; if granted, the student has one semester to correct the deficiency(s).

1. Complete the aid year General Scholarship Application as the required application for the George R. Johnson Entrepreneurship Scholarship.
2. Apply online by logging into CougarNet and navigating to Financial Aid>Financial Aid Info & Links>Scholarship Types>Online Scholarship Application.
3. Complete the general scholarship application for all scholarship opportunities and answer the application questions; students are matched to scholarships based on application answers and data pulled from student records.
4. Submit an application each academic year.
5. Accepts to Cleveland State and access to CougarNet are required to apply for scholarships.
