Harvard Radcliffe Fellowships

Harvard Radcliffe Institute application materials require an application form, a curriculum vitae, a project proposal, a writing or work sample, and three letters of recommendation. All materials must be submitted via Harvard Radcliffe Institute’s online application portal.

Applicants choose an application area when beginning the application: Humanities and Social Sciences; Creative Arts, Journalism and Nonfiction; or Science, Engineering, and Mathematics. All application materials must be in English.

Letters of recommendation are requested through the application portal by selecting “Add Recommender,” entering required recommender information, and clicking “send” so an email is sent to each recommender with uploading instructions. Harvard Radcliffe Institute notes that letters are due by the application deadline.

1. Register as a new user on Harvard Radcliffe Institute’s online application by entering name, email address, mailing address, and a password (if this is your first time applying).
2. Log in to the portal and begin an application by selecting an application area: Humanities and Social Sciences; Creative Arts, Journalism and Nonfiction; or Science, Engineering, and Mathematics.
3. Complete the application form and prepare the required application materials.
4. Submit all materials via Harvard Radcliffe Institute’s online application portal.
5. Add recommender information on the “Listing of Recommenders” page by selecting “Add Recommender,” completing required details for each recommender, and clicking “send” to email uploading instructions.
6. Verify each recommender’s email address before sending the request.
7. Track recommendation status in the application portal using “Pending Letter of Recommendation,” and follow up if a recommender has not received the request.
