International Student Scholarships

The University of Minnesota Duluth offers an “International Student Scholarship” to support international students’ enrollment. Prospective students must complete an application for admission before the Regular Decision Deadlines to be considered. The award is up to $20,000 over four years, provided as $5,000 annually.

The scholarship is for undergraduate, degree-seeking international students who are in an active, non-immigrant temporary visa status and are not ineligible due to a tuition reduction or waiver. Students who previously attended a college or university are eligible for three years, while new high school students are eligible for four years, subject to renewal criteria.

Eligibility and renewal depend on academic and enrollment requirements. The scholarship is renewable annually, contingent upon maintaining a 3.0 cumulative University of Minnesota (U of M) GPA and full-time undergraduate status.

To be considered, students must have a completed application for admission on file by May 1 (fall) and by October 15 (spring). Students uncertain about eligibility can email the Admissions Office for guidance.
