Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) USA Freshman Guaranteed Scholarships

MTSU awards Freshman Guaranteed Scholarships based on academic merit using ACT scores and GPA. The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships presents scholarship opportunities for first-time incoming freshmen, with renewal requirements, renewal checks, and fine print for qualifying students.

The scholarships are available to students applying for undergraduate admission as new incoming freshmen who plan to enroll at MTSU in the Summer or Fall semester. Students are considered for the scholarship chart by meeting the listed admissions, testing, transcript, and residency requirements and by having the required information on file with the Admissions Office by the priority deadline. The scholarship type is determined using GPA from either the sixth-semester or seventh-semester transcript and the highest qualifying composite test score on file (without writing sub-scores). MTSU does not accept ACT or SAT Super-Scores.

These scholarships can be received for up to 4 years (up to 8 semesters) as long as renewal eligibility requirements are met after each Fall and Spring semester. To renew, students must be enrolled full-time every Fall and Spring term in coursework applicable toward their program of study, maintain full-time enrollment throughout each semester, and have at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.

• Students must apply for admission as a new Incoming Freshman.
• Admissions Application fee must be paid or the student must be qualified for a fee waiver.
• Students must have an official qualifying ACT and/or SAT test score on file with the Admissions Office (without the writing subscore).
• Qualifying ACT/SAT test scores must match the ranges listed in the chart.
• Application materials and required information must be on file with the Admissions Office postmarked by the priority deadline to be considered for a scholarship in the chart.
• Students must be admitted to MTSU to be reconsidered for a scholarship award or upgrade due to a higher qualifying December test score.
• Students must have an official sixth-semester high school transcript with the cumulative GPA requirement specified by the chart (transcript must reflect GPA through the end of junior year).
• MTSU will consider the seventh-semester high school transcript (through the end of the first semester of senior year) if the transcript is on file by the priority deadline.
• Students must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.
• Students must be a first-time incoming freshman who plans to enroll at MTSU in the Summer or Fall semester.
• No separate scholarship application is required for guaranteed academic scholarships.
• GPA and test scores used for awarding are those on file with the Admissions Office at the time of scholarship review.
• MTSU does NOT accept ACT or SAT Super-Scores.
• MTSU can accept a weighted GPA if provided by the high school, but cannot calculate a GPA other than what is provided on the official transcript.
• Students who graduate high school with either a GED or HiSet are NOT eligible due to no high school GPA provided.
• Scholarships are not available during the summer term (for scholarship availability).
• Recipients must also be EVEA verified (or lawfully present in the United States).
• To renew the scholarship, students must be enrolled full-time every Fall and Spring semester in coursework applicable toward their program of study, maintain full-time enrollment throughout each semester, and have at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
• Continuing scholarship eligibility is checked after every Fall and Spring semester.

• Centennial Scholarship: $8,000/year.
• Trustee Scholarship: $5,000/year.
• Presidential Scholarship: $4,500/year.
• True Blue Scholarship: $3,500/year.

1. Go to the Admissions website (mtsu.edu/apply) and begin the enrollment process to be eligible for the awards.
2. Complete the required materials so that all information is on file with the Admissions Office by the priority deadline (including admissions application, fee payment or fee waiver, official qualifying ACT and/or SAT score, and the required high school transcript).
3. No separate scholarship application is required for guaranteed academic scholarships.
4. After receiving the scholarship award offer, accept the offer by the stated acceptance deadline (instructions are included in the scholarship award notice).
