Montco Scholarship

Montgomery County Community College states that scholarships are awarded through the Office of Financial Aid in accordance with criteria specified by donors. The Montco Scholarship Application is used to be considered for over 200 scholarship funds.

For most scholarships, students must be admitted into a degree or certificate program at the College, submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) outlined in the SAP Policy, enroll at least half-time (6 credits or more), and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Montco states that most scholarships awarded by the Financial Aid Office are based on a combination of merit and demonstrated financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Some scholarship funds require information not available on the FAFSA, so all students must complete the Montco scholarship application to be considered. Some funds may require an additional application, based on what the Scholarship Portal lists.

Montco states that annual award amounts usually range from $250-$5000. Award notifications are sent via email to selected students. Scholarships are non-renewable, but students are welcome to reapply. The page also describes specific handling for an external PASFAA scholarship, including return of funds if a student withdraws prior to the scholarship being applied to the account.
