MPower Global Citizen Scholarship in USA and

MPOWER Financing offers the MPOWER Global Citizen Scholarship to support international and DACA students. Mpower states it designed the program to match the experiences of international students. There is no requirement to be an MPOWER borrower to apply.

Applicants must be accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports. For the U.S., eligibility is tied to being a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), protected under DACA, or having a valid visa that permits study in the U.S. For Canada, eligibility is tied to being a Canadian permanent resident or holding a valid Canadian study permit.

Winners are selected based solely on the essay submission. MPOWER states selection considers the quality of the applicant’s essay, including clarity of thought, goals and vision, and communication skills in English; a clear nexus between the intended field of study and goals; and the applicant’s potential to make a positive impact as a scientist, entrepreneur, leader, and/or change-maker. MPOWER will verify eligibility after selecting winners, and winners must execute a Release for funds to be disbursed to the winner’s college/university.

• Accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports.
• International student allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada, as applicable.
• For study in the U.S.: either a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), protected under DACA, or has a valid visa that permits study in the U.S.
• For study in Canada: either a Canadian permanent resident or has a valid Canadian study permit.
• U.S. citizens wishing to study in the U.S. and Canadian citizens wishing to study in Canada are not eligible.
• No requirement to be an MPOWER borrower or applicant to apply, as long as the eligibility criteria are met.
• Must have a visa stamped in the passport by the closing date of the competition.
• Employees (including immediate family and household members) of MPOWER Financing, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and those of any agent, vendor, or supplier of MPOWER are not eligible.
• Only the actual student may participate; completion of the online entry form by a family member or other individual or entity disqualifies the entry.
• Only one entry will be accepted.

• One $8,000 grand prize awarded to be applied to tuition, fees, or expenses at the winner’s school of attendance.
• One $2,000 scholarship for the first runner-up.
• One $1,000 scholarship for the second runner-up.
• Funds are disbursed directly to the winner’s college/university after MPOWER verifies eligibility and receives the winner’s executed Release.

1. Complete the online Scholarship entry form found at https://www.mpowerfinancing.com/scholarships/ during the Scholarship Period.
2. Submit the application form and the essay (submission is required whether or not you are an MPOWER borrower).
3. Ensure the visa is stamped in your passport by the closing date of the competition.
