MPOWER USA and Canada Women in STEM Scholarships

MPOWER USA and Canada Women in STEM Scholarships are an international scholarship program sponsored by MPOWER Financing (“MPOWER”). The program focuses on women who use a STEM degree to benefit society and the planet, and on applicants with the potential to serve as role models and advocates for women in STEM.

The scholarship is open to international students and DACA students who are accepted at, or enrolled in, a full-time STEM degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports. It also covers U.S. or Canadian graduate study, as long as the program is STEM as MPOWER defines it, and the applicant meets the required immigration status.

MPOWER will select winners based on: the quality of the applicant’s written essays (clarity of thought, compelling goals and vision, and superior writing skills in English); the applicant’s record of academic and (if applicable) professional distinction; potential to make significant STEM contributions that benefit people and/or the planet; and a track record and/or potential as a role model and advocate for women and girls in STEM.

After selection, MPOWER verifies eligibility. Winners receive a Release, and then MPOWER disburses funds directly to the winner’s college/university, subject to applicable U.S. or Canadian laws. If a winner cannot be verified or fails/refuses to execute the Release, the person becomes ineligible and MPOWER selects a replacement winner.

• First-place: US$5,000 MPOWER Scholarship to be applied to tuition, fees, or expenses at the winner’s school of attendanceTwo additional winners: US$2,000 scholarship and US$1,000 scholarshipFunds are disbursed directly to the winner’s college/university after the winner executes a Release

Apply for the MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship.After MPOWER provisionally selects you for an award, submit the supporting documentation specified (transcript/admission letter and proof of citizenship, gender, and immigration status).If selected as a winner, execute the Release so MPOWER can disburse the scholarship funds directly to your school.
