Presbyterian College USA Scholarships

Presbyterian College merit scholarships recognize students who exemplify PC’s commitment to academic excellence and service to others. These merit awards are available to incoming first-year students, and their stated purpose is to support access to and affordability of a Presbyterian College education through institutional merit-based scholarships.

Merit scholarship eligibility and award amounts are determined by a high school GPA. To account for grading scale differences, South Carolina residents are evaluated using a 5.0 GPA scale, while out-of-state students are evaluated using a 4.0 GPA scale.

Students are automatically considered for merit scholarships when they submit their application for admission to PC. No separate application is required for merit scholarships. Award amounts are set using the GPA thresholds associated with each named scholarship tier.

• South Carolina residents: evaluated using a 5.0 GPA scale
• Out-of-state students: evaluated using a 4.0 GPA scale
• Automatic consideration occurs when an applicant submits the application for admission to PC

• Founders Scholarship: up to $30,000 (South Carolina residents: 4.85 and above on a 5.0 scale; out-of-state students: 4.00 and above on a 4.0 scale)
• Highlander Scholarship: up to $28,000 (South Carolina residents: 4.50-4.84 on a 5.0 scale; out-of-state students: 3.80-3.99 on a 4.0 scale)
• Belk Scholarship: up to $26,000 (South Carolina residents: 4.15-4.49 on a 5.0 scale; out-of-state students: 3.55-3.79 on a 4.0 scale)
• Tartan Scholarship: up to $24,000 (South Carolina residents: 3.75-4.14 on a 5.0 scale; out-of-state students: 3.20-3.54 on a 4.0 scale)
• Trustees Award: up to $22,000 (South Carolina residents: less than 3.74 on a 5.0 scale; out-of-state students: less than 3.19 on a 4.0 scale)
• Maximum support duration: maximum of eight semesters or until graduation, whichever comes first
