Purdue University Scholarship in USA for Undergraduate and Graduate Students

The Purdue University university-wide first-year scholarships award merit-based funding to eligible first-year undergraduate and provide specified yearly award amounts, with renewal tied to Purdue GPA and continuous full-time enrollment.

• Must be a first-year scholarship applicant (university-wide first-year merit scholarships).
• Domestic students only: eligible domestic students include United States citizens, U.S. nationals, permanent resident aliens, and aliens lawfully present in the U.S. able to establish domicile in the U.S. per federal immigration laws.
• International students holding F, J and some other visa types are not eligible.
• National Recognition Programs Scholarship: only domestic students are eligible.
• Indy Scholars: to receive the scholarship, you must accept your offer of admission and enroll as a full-time student in Indianapolis.
• Lilly Scholars at Purdue Program: encourages students from under-resourced urban and rural populations who have overcome socioeconomic or educational disadvantages or who are among the first generation in their family to apply.
• Scholarships are renewable with Purdue GPA of 3.00 or higher (for Trustees Scholarship, Presidential Scholarship, Indy Scholars, and Lilly Scholars at Purdue Program).
• Renewability for first undergraduate degree: up to four years (eight semesters) based on continuous full-time enrollment and meeting Purdue’s GPA requirements listed below.
• To receive and maintain a Purdue scholarship: enroll in the academic year for which the scholarship was awarded; remain continuously enrolled at Purdue; meet or exceed individual scholarship renewability requirements.
• To be considered for these scholarships and grants administered by the Purdue Division of Financial Aid, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by Purdue’s priority filing date of April 15.
• Purdue states FAFSA opens Oct. 1.
• Additional eligibility limits: Purdue states that “in general, international undergraduate students are not eligible for financial aid, including scholarships.”

• Trustees Scholarship: $16,000 per year (nonresidents); $10,000 per year (Indiana residents).
• Presidential Scholarship: $10,000 per year (nonresidents); $4,000 per year (Indiana residents).
• Indy Scholars: $10,000 per year minimum.
• Lilly Scholars at Purdue Program: Full tuition.
• National Recognition Programs Scholarship: $1,000 per year.

1. Complete the admission application and ensure all required items are received by the Nov. 1 Early Action deadline to be automatically considered for university-wide merit scholarships.
2. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by Purdue’s priority filing date (April 15) to be considered for these scholarships and grants administered by the Purdue Division of Financial Aid.
3. For the Lilly Scholars at Purdue Program: follow the program’s opt-in process (Purdue states scholars admitted in fall 2024 and beyond must agree to the program’s opt-in process).
