Associated Students 'Basic Needs' Scholarship

San Diego Mesa College and the Mesa College Foundation collaborate to make scholarships accessible to students. The Associated Students “Basic Needs” Scholarship provides financial support to assist with tuition, books, living expenses, and the day to day financial needs of college students.

The scholarships are intended for students currently enrolled at Mesa College. The Mesa College/Mesa College Foundation scholarship process is described as accessible regardless of major, GPA, course load, or citizenship/immigration status, and students can apply through one general application for multiple scholarships.

Selection is handled by review committees: student applications are reviewed and committee selection and scoring occur after the application deadline. Students are later notified and invited to accept scholarships.

Awards are provided depending on the scholarship funding timeline set by the donor/scholarship lead. Students may be awarded up to three scholarships to cover costs such as tuition, books, and additional educational expenses, based on the scholarships they receive.
