Shasta College Foundation International Scholarship

The Shasta College Foundation offers a scholarship for new international students. The scholarship is intended to address financial challenges and barriers that international students may face when coming to college in the United States. Shasta College Foundation states it wants to welcome international students to campus and provide education to a diverse student population.

The scholarship is aimed at students who plan to attend Shasta College in the Fall semester and take a minimum of 12 units. The application requirements cover a completed application form with an essay, academic performance, recommendation letters, and an unofficial transcript.

Selection is based on the stated requirements, including having a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better, submitting two letters of recommendation from someone who knows the applicant well (and is not an immediate family member), and submitting the most recent unofficial school transcript along with the application form and essay.

Support is a one-time scholarship amount of $3,000. Payment is made directly to the student’s Shasta College Student account to pay for educational expenses. To receive funding in the Fall, the student must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units at Shasta College, and scholarship winners must be eligible F-1 visa holders to receive funding.

• Student must be taking a minimum of 12 units (Fall semester enrollment requirement prior to receiving funding).
• Application is for new international students.
• Scholarship winners must be eligible F-1 visa holders in order to receive funding.
• Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or better.
• Must submit two (2) letters of recommendation from someone that knows you well (instructor, employer, church member, etc.).
• Recommendation letter author must not be a member of the applicant’s immediate family.

• Scholarship amount: $3,000 (one-time).
• Scholarship distribution: payment made directly to the student’s Shasta College Student account to pay for educational expenses.

1. Complete the application form, including the essay (500 word maximum).
2. Include two letters of recommendation from someone who knows you well and is not a member of your immediate family.
3. Submit your most recent unofficial school transcript.
4. Submit the scholarship application by 11:59 pm PST on April 30, 2023 using the Microsoft Forms application listed on the page.
5. After being selected, enroll in a minimum of 12 units at Shasta College prior to receiving funding in the Fall.
