University of Southern Indiana (USI) Scholarships

USI’s Center for International Programs (CIP) offers study abroad scholarships to make study abroad more affordable and accessible for USI students. CIP states that study abroad can be a financial commitment and provides a range of study abroad scholarships to help alleviate the financial burden. CIP study abroad scholarships are available through the CIP office’s scholarship options listed on this page.

CIP study abroad scholarships are only available to currently enrolled USI students participating in an approved overseas study abroad program with a USI-approved partner provider or exchange institution. The page states that prospective international students seeking admission to USI are not eligible. Students can apply for all three CIP scholarships through one standard application and may apply for as many as they are eligible for, but can receive no more than one.

Selection is described by scholarship type. The USI Study Abroad Ambassador Scholarship requires enrollment at USI in the fall or spring semester following the study abroad experience, and completion of required outreach and promotional activities within six months. The USI Global Engagement Scholarship requires the ability to engage in a Global Engagement research project during the term abroad, with projects judged on feasibility and relevance, among other factors. The Study Abroad Influencer Scholarship requires being in good academic standing and completion of a digital content portfolio and interview, plus content creation and promotional activities within the designated scholarship term.

CIP scholarship amounts on this page are given by scholarship type and by program length (including academic year, semester, and summer/short-term). Recipients must enroll at USI in the fall or spring semester following the study abroad program and complete the listed requirements within the timelines stated for each scholarship. The page indicates students can receive no more than one CIP scholarship.

• Recipients for the USI Global Engagement Scholarship must complete the requirements for the Global Engagement Scholarship within six months
• Recipients for the Study Abroad Influencer Scholarship must have been accepted into a USI-approved, credit-bearing study abroad program
• Applicants for the Study Abroad Influencer Scholarship must be in good academic standing
• Applicants for the Study Abroad Influencer Scholarship must complete a digital content portfolio and interview
• Recipients for the Study Abroad Influencer Scholarship must complete the required Study Abroad Influencer content creation and promotional activities within the designated scholarship term

3. Select the scholarship(s) you are eligible for; the page states you may apply for as many as you are eligible for but can receive no more than one.
4. Submit the application by the CIP Study Abroad Scholarship deadline stated for Spring programs.
