Are you a graduate student passionate about agriculture and food? Then you have a unique opportunity to bring your research to life with the Arrell Food Institute Scholarships. With a yearly award of $50,000, this scholarship supports doctoral and master’s level students in their research journey.
To apply, submit your admission to an eligible University of Guelph Graduate program by February 28 and complete your application by March 5. The application process includes a statement of research and personal motivation, a letter of support from a prospective Guelph supervisor, and a CV.
Selection for the scholarship is based on outstanding academic achievement, relevance of proposed research, personal motivation, commitment to non-specialist engagement, and an interview with the scholarship selection committee. Recipients of the scholarship will be known as the Arrell Scholars and are expected to register for UNIV*6050 in their first year and contribute to collaborative projects in subsequent years. The scholarship requires recipients to maintain satisfactory progress in their graduate program and clear, mutually agreed expectations between the recipient and supervisor.
This scholarship is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but it is not available in conjunction with other scholarships such as the Ontario Graduate Scholarships/QEII-Graduate Scholarships in Science and Technology, Trillium Scholarships, the Brock Doctoral Scholarship, Dairy Farmers of Ontario Doctoral Research Assistantship, Trudeau Doctoral Scholarship, or Tri-Council Scholarships including the Vanier.
If you meet the requirements, such as entering a full-time graduate program with a minimum first-class admission average and research aligning with the vision of the Arrell Food Institute, apply now to take the first step in your research journey.
