University of Tasmania, Australia PhD Scholarship in Electromaterials Science , 2015  

The Faculty of Arts is offering one PhD scholarship to work in the area of applied ethics/ technology ethics, within the Ethics, Policy and Public Engagement theme of the Australian Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science (ACES). This scholarship provides $25,849 pa (2015 rate) living allowance for 3 years, with a possible 6-month extension.  The scholarship also includes $2,000 pa operational and travel funds to support the PhD research project. The application deadline is 28 February, 2015.

  • Candidates with the following interests and undergraduate experience are encouraged to apply: Ethics, Applied Ethics, Science Technology Studies, Bioethics and Technology ethics.
  • Scholarship is available for pursuing PhD degree level at the University of Tasmania.
  • This PhD scholarship is jointly funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science and the University of Tasmania.

Eligibility: The following eligibility criteria apply to this scholarship:
-The scholarship is open to Australian (domestic) candidates and to International candidates.
-The PhD must be undertaken on a full-time basis.
-Applicants must already have been awarded a first class Honours degree a Masters degree by research, or hold equivalent qualifications or relevant and substantial research experience.
-Additional relevant research experience and/or peer reviewed research activity, awards and/or prizes will be regarded favourably.

  • The scholarship is open to Australian (domestic) candidates and to International candidates.
  • Scholarship is awarded for 3 years, with a possible 6-month extension.
  • This scholarship provides $25,849 pa (2015 rate) living allowance for 3 years, with a possible 6-month extension.  The scholarship also includes $2,000 pa operational and travel funds to support the PhD research project.
  • This is a competitive and merit-based scholarship.
  • Applicants should complete the Application for Admission and Scholarship for Higher Degree Research Candidature form (see How to Apply on the Graduate Research Future Students Page) and indicate in Section 9 Scholarship Support that you wish to be considered for the “Breaking down the distinctions: robotics, disability, dual use” Scholarship. Application form and all original supporting documents must be emailed or posted to the Relevant Hub.
