Diploma in Geographic Information Systems and Earth Obsevations

The Diploma in Geographic Information Systems and Earth Observations at Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University teaches students the core tools for working with geographic information. Students study Introduction to GIS and Representation of Geographic Phenomena, Geo-referencing, Coordinate Systems, and Data Models, and Geographic Data Visualization and Map Creation. The program also covers Introduction to Remote Sensing and Sensors.

Learning is organised into Semester 1 and Semester 2. Semester 2 builds on this with Spatial Analysis and Applications, Image Analysis and Classification, and Google Earth Engine and Remote Sensing Applications. Students also take Urban Planning and Spatial Development and complete a Capstone Project.
