Doctor of Business Leadership (DBL) at Midlands State University develops advanced study in communication for management research, philosophy of science and business research methods, and leadership topics across global and multicultural organisations. Students also study corporate governance and ethics, fiscal leadership, strategic marketing and innovation, and business innovation and entrepreneurship. Later modules shift toward advanced strategic management in action and contemporary issues in leadership.
The programme requires ten modules in the first three semesters, including three research-oriented modules and seven discipline-specific modules. Taught modules are studied over 60 contact hours each. Students develop a concept note, receive support through approved supervision, complete a DBL research proposal with an oral presentation, and then proceed with thesis writing. Colloquia occur every semester from the third semester, and the programme includes Doctoral Thesis modules with a final doctoral thesis.
