Not every school in Canada can host international students. Confirming that your institution is a Designated Learning Institution is a step you cannot skip.
What a DLI is
A DLI is a school approved by a provincial government to enrol international students. You need a letter of acceptance from a DLI to apply for a study permit.
Check the list
The Government of Canada publishes the official DLI list, including each institution’s number. Verify your school appears before you pay any deposit.
DLI and PGWP
Studying at a DLI is necessary but not always sufficient for a PGWP — the specific programme must also qualify. Confirm both before enrolling.
