McGill University McCall MacBain Scholarships in Montreal

McCall MacBain Scholarships are described as “full graduate scholarships” provided by McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill. The stated purpose is to provide students with “mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, and global community” to help them accelerate their impact on the world.

The scholarships are aimed at “top candidates” who apply for Summer/Fall. The programme supports compatible McGill master’s programs, and applicants must also meet McGill master’s program admission minimum degree and language requirements.

Selection starts with a written application. After an assessment of the written application, more than 250 Canadian and international semi-finalists are invited to regional interviews. Regional interview invitations are issued only to semi-finalists. Approximately 85 finalists are then invited to final interviews in Montreal; finalists are eligible to receive either the full scholarship or a finalist award.

Final interviews include travel cost coverage for participation. Up to 30 McCall MacBain Scholars (20 Canadians and 10 international students) begin studies at McGill University in September. Support duration and any obligation afterwards are not stated.

• Applicants must meet ONE of the following criteria: be a current student on track to earn their first bachelor’s degree by August 2027; or have earned their first bachelor’s degree in the last five years (January 2021 or later); or have earned their first bachelor’s degree more than five years ago and were 30 years or younger on January 1st, 2026.Applicants must meet the minimum degree and language requirements for McGill master’s program admission.Applications are for Summer/Fall 2027 admission.

2. Provide two reference forms as part of the McCall MacBain Scholarship application (required).
3. Apply separately to compatible programs at McGill University.
4. If selected as a scholarship finalist, apply to McGill in December even if the programme deadline is later.
5. Attend regional interviews (invitation only) after an assessment of the written application.
6. Attend final interviews in Montreal (invitation only).
