Bachelor's in Nursing

Nursing is a Bachelor program taught at Dawson College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (3 years) options.

The Nursing program at Dawson College prepares students for clinical nursing roles. Students learn to build professional relationships with patients, peers, and teachers; address social and cultural realities in healthcare; link pharmacology to clinical situations; collect and analyze data; and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care across medical-surgical, postnatal, pediatric, psychiatric, geriatric, and ambulatory care.

Learning includes hands-on practice from the first semester, with clinical placement, Dawson lab learning, and high-tech simulation rooms. Students practise skills on Dawson’s high-fidelity mannequins that breathe and react to interventions. The program includes weekly clinical placements and culminates in a clinical internship in a hospital setting during the sixth semester, with a preceptor for 32 hours per week.

The minimum requirements for admission in Nursing at Dawson College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Dawson College.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Dawson College as pre-requiste for admission in Nursing.

A Diploma of Secondary Studies (DES) or academic background judged equivalent to the DES.

• Sec V Chemistry 551-504
• Secondary IV enriched Mathematics or Secondary V Mathematics are considered assets
• Placement at College English 101 (testing may be required)
• Completion of the science prerequisites within the last 5 years is considered an asset
