Psychiatric Nursing Refresher Certificate Program is a program taught at Douglas College, Canada. Intake: begins once per month. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (Up to 31 months to complete the program.) options.

The Psychiatric Nursing Refresher Certificate Program at Douglas College is a self-paced, on-line, instructor-supported program for Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs) who have been non-practicing for up to five years and want to update their knowledge and skills to reach competencies required of a beginning graduate in preparation for registration. Students complete theory courses and outcomes focused on responsibility, therapeutic relationships, assessment and planning, leadership, communication, and ethical and legal parameters.

The full certificate includes five theory courses, an on-line clinical skills component, and a full-time clinical preceptorship experience in an acute care psychiatric setting. Students can also register in any or all individual theory courses for professional development. Course structure includes on-line theory and Clinical Nursing Skills Online (PNRS 552), plus 160-hour Clinical Preceptorship (PNRS 150).

Admission Requirements
